I grew up in the sunny Southeast of Ireland and was heavily involved in sports growing up. Having completed my Leaving Certificate in 2015 I went to college to study Athletic Rehabilitation, however after a semester realised that the course wasn't for me.
After dropping out and taking some time to think I began working as an apprentice painter with the goal of reapplying to college for a business degree, which I did the following September. As part of this degree, I spent a semester working for DPD in their Centre of Excellence, working on driver compliance and being involved in implementing a new driver incentive scheme.
After completing my degree, I moved to Galway, Ireland where I worked for Advant Medical for the past almost 4 years. In my roles within the company, I managed the company's social media accounts, oversaw a design change for the company website, performed sustainability audits, and worked as a Health and Safety liaison.
Having piqued an interest in working with website and social media metrics, I decided to further my education with an MSc in Data Analytics, graduating with First Class Honors.
After completing my Masters Degree, I moved to Rhode Island USA to be with my wife. After arriving in the US I secured a position with Shoreham Bank in Warwick as a Data Analyst Intern. This position allowed me the opportunity to use my marketing experience and combine it with my new knowledge of data analysis.
After completing my internship, I moved into their Commercial Lending division, where I currently work as a Junior Portfolio Analyst. This position has allowed me to combine the knowledge I have of data analysis and combining it with my financial analysis knowledge from college.
My background in sports has taught me the importance of teamwork and communication. I have also worked with individuals from a wide array of cultures, and I enjoy finding common interests. I find this skill especially advantageous when kicking off projects with new customers or team members I haven't worked with before.
I have always been involved in both playing and coaching soccer. Whilst coach for the Wexford District Schoolboys League County Squads for 5 years I obtained a number of international coaching badges. I have also coached local club squads and academies. I still play with a local club for enjoyment.
Last year I also started playing golf and I am enjoying the challenge.
I have always loved to travel. My passion for travelling started in school when our family would travel through Europe in our campervan for two weeks every summer. In the past few years I have visited New York, Boston, Florida, Venice, Paris, Madrid and Edinburgh.
